Welcome to the world of Artworks by Marty! Abstract, Surreal & Fine Art

Here’s a little synopsis pertaining to my 2006 artwork “Black Fish”.

BLACK FISH

Through the eyes of surreal and abstract artist, Marty Martinez

The artwork, Black Fish, is a representation of myself as Black Fish.  As I travel, what I observe through varied channels, levees, waterways, and the depths of our oceans, and it’s troubling to me.

The twisted fishing pole represents man devoted to sport and mechanics.  The neglect and disregard of what may go extinct, but confident.  You can replace anything, like a mechanical fish.

The observatory searching the heavens for answers, forgetting the clusters of celestial beauty of boundless space that was created for our enjoyment.  Yet, mankind would rather search for other places to live.

I’m Black Fish floating idle, watching, waiting, tasting the chemicals that stunt the very design of its occupants.  Listening to the squalls pound the shores, but hoping for the calm as the storms stir the flavor of my waters.  As I travel, and what I observe through varied channels, levees, waterways, and the depths of our oceans, and it’s troubling to me.

Black Fish, by no means, is affiliated with CNN’s documentary, Blackfish.
